Response To A video

Now that I have watched the entire video, a few thoughts. I have dealt with a lot of death in my personal life, including losing my husband when I was 33 years old. I remember being driven home from the hospital and asking my friend who was driving, “what am I going to do with the rest of my life?” Her response was extremely profound then and still is today.  “Baby steps.” I’ve learned that with each death has also come with the requirement to build a new life for myself. At 33 I wasn’t just a widow, but 4 months later I was a daughter whose father was diagnosed with cancer.  This was to be cancer #1, it was cancer #2 that took his life.  I was 40 years old and acutely aware that my life was changing again.  This time I was helping my Mother create a new life for herself. When my Mother suffered the stroke, her voice was silenced but her actions were loud and clear, she wanted to be removed from life support and allowed to move forward with the new part of her life ...

Disaster Home Update 1

After no dishes for three weeks, I’m finally getting my first load done. I also took the kitchen trash out and swept up the kitchen floor. Oh, and I wiped down the countertop from the refrigerator to the stove with Clorox wipes. Not much, but a little by little bit.

Ground Zero

Yes, my home looks like a disaster area. It will also look better.  Little by little.
